A good overall directory-based approach to a search engine. This one has fairly significant opportunities for growth so it is a good place to submit to. Become an editor and help to control the overall position of your site even if you do absolutely nothing else.

Open Directory Project
This is the key to placement at this time. A number of sites are using DMOZ information and so it is vital that you are positioned properly. Go to the right category and then submit your site. One hint, do not submit to a second category if the editor is the same. You can see who the editor is by looking at the bottom of whatever category you want to submit your site into. consistent.

Peekaboo
Another family-safe site that is going to be growing over time we think. Posting is done quickly if you link to them but we are not certain if it is worth the trouble. Just go ahead and submit. If you have a page dedicated to links throw them in.

Focusing on family-safe information, this site is a good one to post your site to. They do have a specific purpose to also assist women in business. Site submissions are fast and easy.

A site that is making strides and has a good number of listings in it already. There are tools to help you market your site and they will also include some free webspace for you. A good overall site that is posting sites quickly and makes it easy for you to do so. Submit your site and track it to make sure that you are in the right category. Focus on your keywords and description to ensure that your site shows up in searches.

Searches here on done on a category basis. Submission is a little complicated but once the form is submitted your site will be posted quickly. Make sure to rate your own site once it is posted.

A decent overall search engine to list your site in. Find the category you want you site to be in and then submit from there.

Popular Sites
Newer search engine with a limited number of resources. As they develop the database they will start to get more and more traffic. Posting is relatively quick so take advantage of it and submit your site.

Primeseek.com
This is a pay-for service. In this case you have to use their search engine submission software to get listed. If you are planning to use software to submit (as we mentioned automated submission is not a substitute for manual submissions) then go ahead and use their service. You will get a listing as a result. One of their services is free but beware that it doesn't create problems with the bigger engines.

Profind
Fast posting site that will help you get exposure. The results are fairly good from searches so we expect that this site will gain in popularity over time.

Prosper Net
A good commercial-based site that will accept your site quickly. They are doing quite a bit of promotion on the Internet so this might be a site well worth watching in the future.
