This is a newer effort that is quite good in our view. Though the site is simple in design their database is quite well developed. Adding a site is easy and they are using a spider. We like the idea of being able to submit your site in a category AND having your site spidered after you select its location. Again, make sure of your meta-tags to ensure that you get the best exposure possible.

WDirect.com
This site claims that there are 500 new submissions per day! Though that is somewhat difficult to swallow we can accept it. Adding your site is relatively straightforward. They allow you to select a username and password that allows you to return to edit your link. Posting times seemed quite slow so be prepared to wait. This site has to improve to stay around. In any event, it is another listing for your site.

Web-Crawler
This is a great search engine that we really like. Posting for such a busy site is quite fast. Have a problem? They will answer it. This is one of the features that makes this very positive to list with. One of the issues here is their association in the Looksmart and Excite group. This is where paying Looksmart's fee of $199 is useful in that it guarantees that your site will be picked up by a very successful group of sites.

Great, great, great! Those 3 words sum up this search engine. This site is well designed and is eacy to use. Adding your site requires that you adhere to their rules...strictly! To add your site use the drop down box in the upper left that says "Home" in it. They will first spider your site, let you edit the information and then get you to select the category. This is one of the best processes we have seen to date by combining both the power and ease of a spider with the ability for you to direct where your site is listed.

Web Search
This search engine does something we deplore... it requires you to link to them in order to get a listing. We think that you shouldn't be forced to reciprocate and that the best directories rely on their quality of site in order to get links. In any event, it is worth submitting but what we suggest is that you bury the link in a deep subpage. Posts are done quickly and efficiently.

Web Search 2k
This site was under reconstruction at the time of this review. However, their previous site was quite good. Their search results were very relevant and were returned very quickly. All in all this adds up to good coverage for your site assuming that their new engine is as good as the old one.

WebScout
This engine works on the principle of promotion. You nominate your site for their award. If you are selected your site is then added to their newsletter as a site they recommend and is added to the directory. Though this limits the value of their directory it does give your site some level of credibility in the eyes of users.

Web Section
A directory that is easy to use and is very simple. Adding your site is a matter of finding the right category and subcategory and then listing from within there. Posting times seem to be about 2 - 3 weeks. This could develop into a good site over time so it is worth the effort to submit your site.

Web Trawler
We like spiders and this is another one. Adding your site is easy and involves very little effort. The one problem here is the length of time to get your site added. If they speed up that process this site would be very useful.

WhatUSeek
A spider site that is easy to add your site to. Take a look through the site and do a search on a term that you want to be listed by. Then analyze the sites that come up to understand how to work your own keywords, tags and descriptions for better placement. Posting times are extremely slow which really limits the value of what could be a great site.

Who Izzy
A site that is likely in transition though that is not a reason to avoid adding your site. Often when sites are sold they end up in the hands of a company that is looking to expand and which can bring new life to a tired format. Besides, adding your site is easy and fast.

Fast search engine that is going to develop we think. Easy to use and fast to post, this site is a great place to add your link. They use a spider to make sure your meta tags and keywords are up to date.
